March 2006: Allegra Yardeny has been learning to write using Real Script, a form of Chancery that is ergonomic, fluid and legible. One of the exercises that helps Allegra and many other students is to build a web of words around a single base element. Allegra used the matrix below of the base element <speci> to build words that she knew and then went further and synthesized groups of words that she had never encountered before. Because of her understanding of the meaning of the base element and the function of many of the suffixes, she was soon able to get an idea of what these new words meant. |
